Happy Birthday Mina

On Sunday, March 28th,
our sweet Auntie Mina turned 86.
She still makes the dressing for her
own birthday supper, ('cause hers is the best),
bakes us fresh cinnamon rolls and buns
every Saturday and
does ALL the baking EVERY week
for our Kids' Klub.
Besides all that, she is fun,
kind, joyful, prayerful, encouraging
and just plain wonderful!

23 Years

It was during my year in Grade 4 that I met
Bonnie in Alice Johnson's Sunday school class
at the Midale Baptist Church.

At that moment I fell in love and new she was the girl for me
and that I could stop searching for that life long mate, because
I new at that time I found her.

After many other Sunday school teachers and several years later
we finally started dating a year after our high school graduation.
It was the summer of 1985
The number one song on the radio that summer was
"Walk of Life" by Dire Straits.

Though not her favorite song
it still brings a smile to her face when she hears the first few seconds
of the instrumental opening.

23 years later March 27th
She still smiles when I play it for her

Fun with Grace

Grace's Care Home has recently
been closed to the public due to the flu.
Tonight I was able to go visit and had a great time.
I bought her an electronic picture frame recently
and we watched the picture show together.
I have taken some pictures from facebook to
put on there for her.

There was one of Val that came up and she said
"One time Valerie and I were having a
good time talking together...then Sharon came
along and wouldn't let us talk...
Now I can't look at her - why couldn't
I talk to my little niece?"
That story was repeated a few times
while I was there...not sure when
this happened??
We also saw a vacation picture of Lori & Arnel.
She said "We just stay in Weyburn!"

Every time I go there, I ask if I can
hang up her picture frame I got her
at Christmas time.
It has pictures of Ernie, Deanna & Amanda.
She keeps it in her closet.
Every time she says "NO"
Today she told me it keeps her from
seeing the junk in her closet.
I told her I was going to ask EVERY time I come.

Hair Day!

Okay...so normally on 'hair day' we
take a picture of the 'after' haircut.
This is the 'after' picture of Charissa's
BLACK socks after Grandma's haircut.

Important to note that Grandma got
ALL the hair off and they
are now Downy fresh as well!

Great Help!

The Youth Group recently helped me prepare
the brochure mailout for camp.
The printers had made an error, so they
had to tape in an amended skill list,
stick all the address labels on, stuff envelopes
and sort the finished envelopes for 1,400 brochures.
We had the Olympics on to entertain us while
we worked....Thanks guys!

Another Driver

Yesterday Sunday February 28, 2010 Tyler turned 16
Today Monday March 01, 2010 Tyler got his Driver's Licence
We spent all weekend practicing his driving and parallel parking
In fact we have been driving allot this past month!
Sometimes we take the the truck coyote hunting and he drives
while I ride shotgun and do all the shooting.

It only seems like yesterday we just took the training wheels off his little
BMX Bike, as he pedaled hard and I held the back and ran up & down 9th Ave
over and over again.

Now I am too old to keep running up and down 9th Ave holding onto bikes
as its much easier to sit in the passenger seat and point the way to the Tim Horton's
Drive through
