A Year Without Pop

It's been a whole year without Pop!
I did not think I could make the year
I might as well wait until Jan 01, 2010 now before I start again
Maybe I should try two years?

"Hi" is a precious word!

Recent visits with Grace have not been good.
We (Barb & I and kids) have gone
there to sing to
her a couple times and received the
greeting "GET OUT OF HERE!"
She usually won't open her eyes or say anything
when I go there.

But recently, her medication has been changed...
and I think it is making a difference.
I stopped there to drop something off this week,
thinking I'd only be there a minute to say 'hi'
with no response...
But she said "Hi, Bonnie" (in a very
cheerful manner) and we had
a good visit and some hearty laughs!

I am thankful that the psych doctor was
able to assess her and make these
changes!

Personal Decorator

Last week we made plans to go to Midale
so that Kelsey could decorate Grandma Kerr's tree today.
Grandma had the tree up a few days before
we came and ended up
getting company during that time.
Her friend commented that she
must not like to put much on her tree (she just
had the lights on it). So Grandma said "Oh no,
I have my own personal decorator that comes to do it"
She also put up and decorated our tree and Mina's.
She likes to get this done as soon as possible!!
We always have our tree downstairs, so Terry
says she can put it up, but we have to keep the blinds
closed until Dec. 1st...So we did!
We got this tree many years ago from
our neighbour for $25.
It's not too beautiful, but we love it anyway...
Lots of good memories.

Elephant Stew

Wild Game Cook Book II.

1 Elephant
2 rabbits (optional)
1/2 pail pepper
2 pails salt
4 bushels onion
93 1/2 gal. water
6 pails flour

Cut elephant into bite-sized pieces. This should take about four months. Cook over kerosene fire four approximately 4 weeks or until tender. Add onions, cook until tender. This will feed about 3,000 hungry hikers. If more are expected, add the 2 rabbits. But do this only if necessary, as most people don't like hare in their stew.
